My pup won’t sleep outside her crate

I got her at 6 weeks and she’s 6 months now. For the first few months of her life she slept on the bed with me at night and either slept on the couch next to me or on her bed, I loved it. Once she got big enough to jump off the bed I got a crate as I couldn’t contain her so she would sleep (always had a hard time settling during the day but NEEDS naps). I’ve been using the crate a couple months now and she will not sleep anywhere but the crate, she will fight sleep until she’s in the crate and then will collapse. I drove around 16 hours across two days and she had a hard time actually sleeping in the car (waking up at any slight change). How do I fix this? I would love for her to just sleep while I watch tv like she did when she was smaller 🙁 also she seeks a smaller/darker place when she’s trying to sleep, whether she’s just sticking her head in between cushions or trying to get under the chair which is why I got the crate & cover.
