Help! Adopted 5 month pup last week and must travel this week. What to do?

As mentioned above, I adopted a five month old pup and must travel for work this week. I have no option of canceling work travel.

I have two options available right now, I can have family members (retired) take care of him or take him on the trip where he’d probably be in his crate for 4 hours one day and can be my side for the rest of the time (not around a lot of people / 5-7 max).

Traveling will be via car for 5 hours. He’s in the car for about 30min a couple times now and he’s been good.

I’m leaning towards him traveling with me and bringing his crate so he has a familiar place.

Anyone have experience with this situation? Any advice or tips would be appreciated!
