Right, in a bit of a situation. Live in UK and have been invited to a family wedding abroad. Originally looking to bring our french bulldog but no airline will allow her into cabin because of her weight and she is not allowed in the hold as a snub nose breed.
I asked the airlines if I could purchase a seat but again said no. I did find it shocking a 14kg dog can't go in cabin when people who weigh much more can, but policy is policy.
Anyway, I thought of ferry/train to France and driving across Europe but then I'd have to drive through dangerous conflict zones in middle east. I then looked into private jets but unaffordable, even if I drove to the closest country before taking flight.
Now I'm looking into kennels. Have looked at loads online but the bad reviews put me off. For example, dogs left in urine, feaces etc and the response from kennel owners call people liers which is very unprofessional. What if they're telling the truth about how their dog was treated. Unless I can find a solution, I'll probably not go.
Sorry about the essay, just wanted to show what areas I've covered and looking for advice.
I guess I'm scared to trust many people because when I was a child, I used to walk dogs for pocket money. Someone who helped me was holding the dog on lead, their hand slipped and the dog ran into the busy road and was hit. That was 30 years ago but never left me.
Thank you all,
G.
