Hi everyone, so 3 days ago we adopted a 4 year old mixed breed and brought her home, we had been visiting and walking her at the shelter for about a month prior.
We knew she was fearful, but the first few hours she seemed to be doing amazing, she came asking for scratches and she layed next to us in the livingroom. Now she's also terribly afraid of walks in our area, she's used to being in a shelter where she had access to nature, but we live in an apartment in a city, we try to go out when there's not many people around, and seem to find a few places where she can relax a bit, not perfect, but working on it.
Here's the problem: for the past 2 days she's refused to eat and has secluded herself in a small, dark room we have, she looks at us and comes out if whe're having lunch or something, but seems like she's becoming more weary of us instead of trusting us, what can we do to make her feel more at ease at home? We want her to be happy with us and feel like we're doing something wrong.
