Basically, my plan for my future is that I want to travel to as many nature filled places as possible while also having an apartment I come back to occasionally in my home town. I’d likely camp a lot and have an RV of the sort. Do dogs do ok in situations like this? Is it safe for them if precautions are taken? The only reason I’d like to have a dog with me is because I expect to be alone in my travels. I currently already have my apartment and I’m saving up for more camping gear, an RV and extra for traveling expenses.
If a dog would do well in this situation, what are some breeds that are extremely loyal and do well with lots of physical activity, but not so energetic that they get pent up staying in/around the RV and try to run off, and a dog that can withstand the cold? I know it’s specific, but if there’s any recommendations that are close I’d appreciate it. My first thought was a husky mix of some kind ! If this situation is simply not good for the dog please let me know!! I’d hate to bring a dog into a situation they wouldn’t be happy in. I’d like to add that this most likely will not be a full on “survival” situation, I would definitely bring the dog into towns for a good bath and they would get proper food. Thank you so much for the read, please speak your mind.
