Cannot leave my puppy in my backyard because he just eats all the poop

My puppy 3 months is semi trained. He pees and poops outside although he has some accidents here and there.

I want to leave him outside but the thing is he cannot be unsupervised because he will grab a poop and eat it. It doesn't help that the neighborhood cats also shit in my backyard and he also digs up those ☹️Sometimes he even wants to bring it inside.

I do clean the poops regularly but I'm busy working and it's hard to keep a poop free backyard all the time. And what's most annoying is that he knows LEAVE IT, but once he gets hold lf a turd all the training goes down the drain

I've had dogs before and this was never an issue.

What's wrong with my puppy? Why is he obsessed with grabbing poop. He is well fed and gets tons of snacks too. It's hard to potty train now because sometimes he just wants to go outside JUST to grab poop.
