Is My Frenchie’s Excitability Normal?

French Bulldog named "Poppy", 7 months old; very intelligent, got her at 10 weeks & she was housebroken @ 12-13 weeks.

I consider her close to fully trained. She's such a wonderful dog – smart, loving, fun but not too hyper. The one issue I'm having is her being so excitable.

She'll get so excited she forgets all training, won't listen & just goes nuts in general. This happens most often when she sees people she recognizes but doesn't know well (does great w/ strangers), but also when we first go for a car ride & such

Is this normal behavior she's likely to grow out of? Or is this something I'll need to work hard on to correct? It's a difficult thing to handle…
