Hi all! I got a black lab puppy at 8 weeks who’s now about 6 months. I was struggling with the lack of sleep and overwhelm of the reality of having a new puppy setting in! I will say we were lucky, after the first couple weeks she stopped waking in the middle of the night to potty and would sleep till 6 or so but I like to get a little sleep on the weekends and found myself being the one waking up with her and my sleep was struggling as a result. I felt like I would have to go to sleep early and not have fun on the weekends bc if I stayed up to late I’d be up early and I’m not the girl who can function on little sleep. Well, the 6 month mark is approaching with our girl this week and it’s like something totally switched with her. She’s much more calm now, she’s just chilling with us during the day not non stop energy needing play and us having to force nap time in crate. She will go in her crate herself or go in our hallway and sleep. She’s also started to let me sleep in! She just gets into bed with us in the morning, we leave the crate door open and sleeps with us until I wake her up! Im feeling so grateful and even just waking up at 8/8:30 is such a good feeling! It gets better!
