I have a almsot 3 months old puppy shes a doberman/ pit bull mixed with some other things. Iv had her for about a week now and shes amazing. Very well behaved. Almost no accidents and shes already learning many commands. The issue im having is I think she has separation anxiety from me. She is VERY clingy and im having a hard time getting her to sleep in her kennel at night and not just bark all day when im not home. I wasnt really looking for a puppy but she was in a bad situation (was being kept in a closet with 8 other puppys in a 600sq ft apartment with 3 large dogs, cats and kids and I felt like I could give her a better home even though i also live in an apartment. Im lucky enough to only have to work part time because my amazing boyfriend takes care of all the bills but im worried me being home so often is whats causing the issue. Yesterday was the first day I had to work since we got her and it was rough. I assume she barked all day because she pretty much lost her voice and obviously in an apartment building thats not okay. She is only clingy with me and couldnt care less about my bf and I love that she feels comfortable and safe around me but I cant be at home 24/7. Im really trying to crate train her but nothing seems to be working. Iv tried sleeping beside her kennel, feeding her in it, puppy tv/ different music. NOTHING WORKS. She doesnt need to be in her kennel often but it would be nice to have her crate trained for when im at work to avoid accidents in the house.
