Please help me understand what I may be doing wrong.
This is my first puppy. She is 10 weeks and a husky/Australian shepherd mix.
She has a crate which we have been using since we got her at 8 weeks.
I have her in a pen at night with the crate open, where she sleeps willingly for 7 hours a night with no crying. I’ve now been doing crate games and training for forced nap time, and she is NOT having it or napping at all anymore.
I feed her in the crate as well as give her enrichment. Closing the door for forced nap time was no issues as well. Just yesterday and today we seem to have some regression. I attempted to go a forced nap this morning after bathroom and play to which she cried for a very extended time. Once she settled I removed her, and said we would try again later. This evening I decided to play crate games her with, to which she is peeing any time to step away (just a couple of steps for the training). She also is crying non stop when I’m not in the room, which I’m finding strange as she wasn’t doing this for the past 2 weeks.
She seems to love her crate for night time (but the door is open).
I am trying to be cautious about making it a safe and fun place for her and don’t want to cause anxiety. I think I’m reading too much online.
Please help me understand if I am doing something bad for her and any way I can improve.
Thank you!
Edit: she is 10 weeks! Can’t edit the title. Time flies.
