Greifing my fur baby

I just had to put my dog down. He was 13 years old and lived a beautiful loving life. I am taking it very hard and I'm looking for advice. For context he was my everything. We did 3 walks a day and I work from home so he woke up with me, worked with me and slept beside me. He would still follow me around like a puppy everywhere and act as my protector. He also was in the car with me everywhere. He would travel with me on work trips and I would bring him with me almost everywhere even if he had to wait in the car for a bit.

Putting him down has been the hardest most painful thing in my life. My husband thinks maybe getting a puppy would be a good idea. We took a look online. I would want the same dog if we were to entertain that idea. I always made fun of people getting another dog right after their dog dies but I'm understanding why now. I feel like it's replacing the dog that passed. He only died 3 days ago and the house feels so empty. It feels like 40 people left and it's only 1 dog. The silence is horrifying.

His breed is an Australian kelpie and there are not a lot of breeders where we are from. When looking there were two breeders in all of the province and both of them moved to Australia. The one group posted a new batch of brand new puppies that were ready on April 7th. The crazy thing is my pups color collar was orange and the one puppy that was on there is listed as "orange" he has an orange collar and is sitting in the position of the first picture I ever took of my pup. I feel like this is to soon in my opinion. But I know your supposed to listen to signs. If I wait longer there is a great chance that puppy will be gone and they might not have another litter for quite awhile. Or I will change my mind and not do it at all.

I was looking at possibly two. For sure the orange one if I were to do it. I was thinking two because the one thing I regretted for my pup was not having another dog as a companion or play mate since I can't play with him all day. I want to know your thoughts or advice for this situation.
