Pitbull vs Labrador – “misidentified puppy”

I agreed to adopt a Labrador mix puppy but it has become obvious that the puppy is almost fully pitbull with no lab. I am experienced with labs and lab mixes. Their temperament is distinctly different than pits (it seems). Part of me wants to continue with this dog but a good portion wants to put him up for adoption (I have only agreed to foster). I have potty trained him and socialized him and he is still very young so he should get picked up easy.

What does Reddit say? Do I stick to my guns and hold out for the lab mix that I actually want and can handle? Or, do I try to make this work knowing my home may not be the best for him? How different are the breads? I already know the “stubbornness” is completely different. With a lab, I only need to convince them that the action does benefit them. This puppy is like: yeah, fuck you. Again, I know this is just puppy stubborn but I have no experience with this type.

The real issue is – the prime adoption window is now. I need to give him the best chance at a good life.

What say you? Please base this on your experience.
