8 year old female chihuahua. She’s sweet and playful but recently I noticed changes in her. I allow her to sleep on my bed as I’ve never had any issues with it (she’s trained). Recently, I’ve noticed she begins to growl at me out of nowhere. I’ll either be switching laying positions or grabbing my AC remote. I have many stuffed animals on my bed but she’s never shown any interest in them. The bed is queen sized so she has her own part of the bed all to herself. But, her growling led to bites with little to no warnings. 2 days ago I moved my hand and she immediately bit me. She bit me in a spot where my hand couldn’t move that well and I was stunned. She’s never exhibited these behaviors but I’m unsure as what I should do. There’s no favorite spot for her nor does she have a specific plushie she’s attached to. I give her as much space as possible and 9/10 I never manage to touch her if I’m moving. Before writing this, she ended up biting a finger of mine and I’m still unsure as to why she’s reacting like this. It was in the dark so it was difficult to see but she woke up and became aggressive. I’m planning on making her sleep in her bed in the meantime as I try to find solutions for this issue.
