I just wanted to share a new game that i play with my GSD-mix. He is really into doing specific tricks (and not others, he doesnt like to hold things in his mouth), but I can find it hard to come up with the tricks that he than has to carry out. So, recently I started experimenting with him deciding on which tricks to do. Basically I create the conditions for play (I use his entire dinner for this), and then just hold kibble in my hand and wait until he does a trick that we have practiced in the past years. He gets a treat for every trick he does. I started making it harder, for instance by not allowing the same trick twice.
The amazing thing is that he also came up with new tricks. He made a sharp bent to the right and the left the other day (treat!), put his paw with force on the couch (treat!), and did some funny things with his head (more treats!).
I can really recommend doing this game, especially if you're too tired or braindead to entertain your canine companion! Just wanted to share:)
Anybody out there who has fun games where dogs are in the lead?
