Am I doing this right? My 12 week old puppy has been home for 2 weeks. She likes her crate. Sleeps in it a full night (with two potty breaks) goes in for food and toys.
When she’s not in her crate she’s in a good sized enclosure. The issue right now is she barks incessantly whenever she can’t see me. I went to the bathroom and she started going nuts so I crated her (blanket over it) so I could poop in peace. She has since been going BANANAS in her crate for like 10 minutes. She has been in the crate during the day before, this isn’t the first time. I keep trying to time 30 seconds of silence on my phone because I know I can’t let her out until she’s calm because that only reinforces bad behavior. She can’t mellow out.
The barking is really the issue but the crate too. Anyone have any tips?
