Tips on introducing other dogs

This is my first thread on here but the puppy distribution chose me. I found a pitbull/staffy/maybe boxer mix (took her to the vet and they called her a pit terrier mix but I took her to a different vet and they said something different so who really knows) on the street on my way home from work. I chose to keep her and give this whole puppy thing a whirl. I’ve been learning as I go but I know she’ll be a relatively larger dog so I’ve been trying my best to train her using this thread and YouTube lol.

Anyway. Shes 4 months. She’s getting the hang of potty training and she’s been getting better with crate training. I’ve introduced her to other dogs and although she’s not aggressive she’s very… excitable? She nips a lot and likes to jump on other dogs. The other day I took her to a friends house (she has 4 other dogs) and she was super excited and started jumping on/playing/nipping with another puppy he had. They play along together but sometimes I can’t tell if this is puppy behavior or if I should get ahead of this. And if it is something I should get ahead of how can I do it effectively? The other puppy was playing just fine but I could tell the older dogs were a bit annoyed of her.

Also, one of my friends little brothers was playing with her and my puppy nipped his nose and he started to bleed. I felt horrible and I was left a bit stunned. This had never happened before and although it was not out of aggression I had a feeling this might be something to address.

My ultimate goal is to be able to trust her around other dogs and potentially even have her off leash. I’m a very active person so I really want my dog to be well socialized and behaved so this won’t be an issue down the line.

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated
