My wife and I have an older dog. She’s a rescue, and from what we can tell she’s about 12.
In the past few months, she wakes up and comes into our bedroom. She loudly pants. She wakes us up, and it is starting to really affect us.
She has been under the care of a vet. They have placed her on melatonin and gabapentin. Sometimes the combo allows her to sleep through the night. Other times it’s like it doesn’t even touch her and she roams around the house panting loudly. With her favorite spot being right next to our bed.
It’s starting to be a giant stressor.
I was wondering if anyone has gone through this before, and what some possible solutions are.
