Hi all,
We have a beautiful little mini dachshund puppy who has been with our family 3.5 weeks. She has bonded well with the family (40M, 40F, tweenie aged kid) and sleeps in her crate at night (a little whinging going in, a toilet break and then a little whinging in the early AM, but otherwise fine).
Our problem is that she is very distressed when we leave the room (whining and crying) or leave the house (howling). Waiting for her to calm, and then giving her a treat, doesn't work as she simply doesn't calm down (even for a beat or two).
Help! How do we positively reward her out of this?
