When I first got him, at only 45 days old, I made it clear in two weeks that he has to make it a habit to sleep alone, currently for not developing any separation anxiety from the very childhood. Initially I slept on the couch in the living room, then he has his pen and crate, limited with his toys. He was doing so well.
Now I shifted to a new house within 15 days of getting him, the house is huge and he settled so well. Now I wfh and all my flatmates/friends work either hybrid or full time in office. He has fun with them all, but has built like a more close bond with me. I give him all his meals and treats.
He is already in professional training since 10 days now at home, and is doing great, BUT THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM!
He isnt letting me off his site. He suddenly isnt letting me do meetings, isnt letting me sit alone in the balcony, constantly wants me in the training room even though just a week earlier, he was doing all of that alone, chilled alone with my friends as well.
Can someone please advice me here?
My trainer advised me to stop giving his meals and let my friends do it and take turns from now. Other than that to generally stop giving so much attention to him. Today for the first time I just worked and straight up ignored him, he settled well beside me and chilled.
He has also started barking so much more, earlier he was v non barky generally. He barks at the door when I am in meetings, barks inside the house if I am in the lawn, how do I fix this and make him more independent?
Please advise!
