Hey so im kinda at my whits end.. ive gotten a 3 month old toy poodle named Teddy and i REALLY and truely love him to bits. But he cries and whines so often my ears are not having it at all. I never hit him nor scolded him not even doing the hand clap thing to intimidate him to stop barking/whining. He has a playpen set up a water bottle for water and a pee tray and a bed. Ive also gotten him a better bed that he cant move and a water bowl thats splash resistance. I will put those two together for him to get used to.
Unfortunately our place is too hot so he'd sometimes sleep on the floor to cool down. But today i had to leave for a longer period of time and when i came back he will NOT stop barking or whining till i picked him up.
And when i let him to the toilet to pee and poop he refused only to do it on the playpens floor. Also whined and cried to get out.
ive also fed him by this point so its not food either and he also whines about food btw. Ive tried teaching him to sit and hes gotten it untill i messed up and allowed him to "sit" when he was perched on top of the pens wall standing up 😭
Im considering signing up for group training course when hes ready to go out after a week or so and its a wee bit costly but istg i just want him to learn the basics and id train him at home afterwards if they can help him stay nearby calmly 😞 fyi the courses would never use fear/abusive tactics to control puppies nor bigger dogs so im hoping they can help us in gentler ways😭
