I just moved to a new apartment with my eight month old toy poodle. We lived in our last place pretty much since I got him at eight weeks and while he used to whine a bit when I would leave him, he grew out of it pretty quick. He’s never shown signs of separation anxiety and is able to be alone for 4-5 hours alone with no problem.
I brought him to the new place last night and left him this morning to go run down to my car and he was immediately barking, pacing, howling, etc. He hasn’t done that in forever! Is it just because it’s a new environment? He has all of his toys, his chews, etc but he’s not interested in them. I tested it again by leaving and just going around the corner and the same thing happened with the pacing, howling, just really distressed. I hate seeing him like this but more than that, I have to work on Monday and will have to leave him. It’s just me and him here. What do I do??? I’m really worried
