We got a puppy back in October! Things have went really smoothly – my older 8 year old lab has been in the house with puppies before, and we’ve never had issues. She plays with him (initiates the play), and they’ve had absolutely 0 issues with getting along.
The ONE issue I have is she pees on her bed. This started when he was a puppy, and I actually initially thought it was him doing it, so we just ditched the beds for awhile unless they were in their crates. I tried putting the beds back out last week, because puppy is fully housebroken, and it was peed on. Decided to give it another couple weeks – I did put toss-able blankets down for them and there were no issues.
I ordered a brand new bed, same style as before. However today as soon as I set the bed down, my older lab popped a squat right in front of me!
I’d question a UTI if this wasn’t a location specific issue – and like I said no urinating anywhere else in the house in the months beds haven’t been out.
