My 10 month old gave me a bit of a worry when she started pooping wet last Wednesday. The vet couldn’t see us until next week, and weren’t too worried since she was active, eating, drinking, and attentive still. 5 days later, she finally got better and excreting solid, just one day before our scheduled vet visit to see what’s wrong. I had them do a fecal test anyway to make sure she’s ok, but it came back positive for coccidia. They said I can put her on Albon if I want to.
My question is, now that she’s pooping fine again, should I hold off on putting her on medication? I don’t want to stress her out more with side effects from the meds now that she’s finally over with her painful almost week of wet pooping. I figure I can monitor her for another few days to see if things stay stable but please tell me if that’s a bad idea.
