Is there a different between getting a girl and a boy dog?

From my experience of owning animals, I’ve seen that female dogs and birds and bunnies and cats have been really mean and not very nice. I do believe that there are some females that are really the opposite, but I would love to hear everyone’s view and if they have experienced owning a boy dog or a girl dog
