Help small dogs get down stairs to the backyard?

My dogs are 13 (chihuahua) and 10 (terrier mix). Our current home has a back door that opens onto the backyard more or less at grade, but the yard in our new house slopes from front to back. The front porch is more or less ground level, but the back door opens to a deck with a one story flight of stairs. Anyone have smart solutions? Has anyone made a fenced run from a front porch at grade through to the back privacy fence? A dog door in a wall with a ramp??
