My 12 week old puppy is generally really good with commands but sometimes he has so much energy, wants to sniff so much he will not focus on me. Or if I say a command and wait, he will nip at or scratch at my hand. I obviously won’t give the treat but then he gets frustrated.
When I realize we’re not getting anywhere or a hard time, I usually will just stop and put him in his pen with some kind of enrichment toy to encourage him to tire himself out and have a nap and try again later
He has soo much wiggly puppy energy. I don’t believe he’s bad or not listening, I realize he’s only a baby, just learning and this is normal but what can I do so I’m not encouraging this or so I don’t accidentally reinforce it?? We’re both doing this for the first time lol I’ve been watching a lot of videos and taking tips but I’ll take anythinggg
