My dog has a problem with peeing in the exact same spot in the house whenever left alone. It started when we first adopted her from her old home, the old family had definitely just kept her kennel most of the time and put diapers on her :(. We quickly started to undo those bad habits and let her roam around the house, most if the house is tile and wood and a small portion is carpet. She decided one day to pee in the her and we scolded her and cleans it up, ever since then when she is left alone for any amount of time she will pee in that spot. We take her out very frequently and she has never gone to the bathroom inside the house in any other place besides a few mishaps here and there. We recently decided to rip up the portion of carpet and do tile with all new wood under and she just peed there again after her being outside not even an hour before! We have the area gated off so she will go many months without getting the chance to go potty there and then one time of forgetting and she will just go straight back to old habits. Is there any tips for making it so she won’t do this? Is her scent imprinted there so she thinks it’s okay? Even thought we scolded her?
