If I were to travel with my border collie on plane for 5 hours how should I do it

I’m possibly going to an America school. from Toronto to Los Angeles.

I’m a little worried about putting my dog in the cargo section, a lot of the private dog jets are so expensive and don’t fly from Toronto to LA.

it’s a 5 hour non stop flight.

has anyone had experience with cargo for dogs? what about dog private jets? or maybe something else.
