Dogs and Lawncare No Chems (Advice needed)

I love having a nice lawn, but it's impossible without using Chemicals… Since it's a definite NO on the chems, we need to re-think our small Chicago Lawn. For those of you having a nice lawn AND dogs, what are you doing? The wife wants to change our lawn to a Pet Safe Tall Fescue & Clover Lawn. I love my grass, but maybe it's time to let go. Thoughts?? Advice?? TY!
