Mali x Corgi x Shiba

I've had two Malinois for the past 20 years and have been captivated by the breed. During that time, I lived in a house with a large backyard to enjoy with the dog. I've now moved into an apartment and am considering smaller breeds like the Shiba and Corgi, but I haven't ruled out getting a Malinois again. I'm away from home for eight hours a day for work, but I'd like your opinion on the topic. I welcome suggestions for other breeds.
