People with three dogs (especially if two of them are 65lbs+) how much chaos and expense do you find it adds to the house?

We have a large 18mo who is well behaved but wants to play all the time. We also have a medium 12yo who does not want to play ever. Sometimes we have debated adding another dog but I always think it seems like it would be chaos. Thoughts?
