DIY dog nail covers

DIY dog nail covers

I've been buying dog nail covers for a long time now because they are amazing. Without them, my old girl can't stand or walk on our hardwood floors. With them, she gets around great. But they are expensive — $40/mo. They are advertised to last longer, but they don't for us.

I figured out how to make something myself. I bought 20 ft of clear vinyl tubing from Home Depot. Used a piece of sandpaper I had to rough up the outside of the tubing so it isn't as slippy and cut ~1/4"-3/8" rounds.

I put them over my dog's nails, leaving the bottom part just slightly over the edge so she can get traction. I attach using a tiny drop of glue.

It is working well for us so I wanted to share.
