I realize the title sounds pretty bad, but I haven't been on a vacation in a very long time and finally found the opportunity to go to the beach. I have a 5 year old corgi and a 6 year old Jack Russell. I work from home and live in a very rural area so they don't get out in public too often. I am not too worried about the corgi as she is just a little shy, but otherwise she does enjoy being out of the house. I am much more worried about my Jack Russell who is very fearful of people and anxious outside of home. She barks at everyone and will growl if anyone gets too close. She does like hiking and being outside though, as long as no people are around.
With that being said, I have really tried to plan this vacation with her comfort in mind. I booked an Airbnb that has a private fenced in backyard and private access to the beach and we are going during the off-season so hopefully it won't be crowded. Obviously both dogs will be on a leash at all times when we are in public. I have family that both dogs love and trust who will be going on the trip with us, so someone will stay with the dogs at all times and they will never be left alone.
The drive is 8 hours, but they have been on longer car rides before. I just want to be sure there is nothing I am missing or forgetting or anything I should consider. Any advice for the trip in general, the beach, the airbnb, or the car ride will be greatly appreciated!!!
