Senior dog help

Hey yall!

I have a Senior rescue dog that has a lot of problems & I don’t really know what to do. I didn’t get him until he was 10 y/o. I also work full time.

PSYCH

attention tied to behavior:

If i work I can expect mylo peed on the floor, tears in his eyes, & howling.

If i am completely a task like school on laptop he does the cat behaviors hell rub his body on my laptop.

– He also will pace the house. Pee small amount (i think it’s attention seeking because it can be 10 mins after outside time.)

– He also has no problem peeing in his kennel, beds, indoors etc.

– Hates other dogs unless they are old & don’t acknowledge him.

– Eats when bored: no human present

– Eats with positive reinforcement (goodboy) otherwise he kinda eats like a cat one bite per hour.

– only likes interactive play with humans

– Coping skills help: classical music, puzzles for food, & heartbeat toy

– Pacing the house

– Adjustments to new environments increases problem behaviors: pacing, peeing

PHYSICAL

– needs sticky paws to not lose balence

– Partially blind

– peeing after being inside for 10 mins

– Probably has joint pain: cries to be let on couch & scared to jump off.
