Hello, I have a cocker spaniel who's a few months older than one. At night, he sleeps in his bed at the top of the stairs outside our room, our door is closed. He was sleeping in our room with us, but we wanted to stop that. When in our room he would never go to the toilet, but when he's sleeping in his bed on the landing he is 100% guaranteed to do a poo somewhere throughout the night. We take him out for a walk around 10/11pm and make sure he does a poo on that – but he'll still muster up enough faeces to leave us a present in the mornings.
He's not whinging or barking to let us know he needs to go out either. What can we do here?
