I have a nine week old chocolate lab. Don’t get me wrong, I was completely expecting frequent accidents/accidents in the crate. We are feeding her the same puppy food with the same schedule her breeder followed. No food within three hours of bedtime. We set alarms for every two hours in the night to take her outside.
But EVERY single night and morning, without fail, piles of poop in the crate and she is covered in poop. Every morning we put her in the shower to clean her off and constantly scrubbing out the crate. It’s not a large crate; only big enough for her to fit comfortably and she seems to enjoy it. I took her to the vet yesterday to make sure nothing is wrong given the sheer amount of poop that is happening. Fortunately everything came back normal.
So any advice would be much appreciated! Is this normal?? Because it feels excessive. And I don’t know what more we can do to prevent it from happening.
