My girl (14 wk weimaraner) is pretty good at her crate naps. Since a few days she will easily nap for two hours at least, without fussing. She has a crate in the living room, at my work and in our bedroom. All are covered, though the one in our bedroom just has a little blanket while the other two can be fully covered with covers I made myself (I'm a tailor, it was a fun side project). She will even settle back down fairly easily if she gets disturbed during her nap. All of this only applies to the covered crates though. As soon as she can see what's going on she gets very restless which can escalate to loud yelping and panicked behaviour.
I think it would be good for her to be more relaxed in a crate, even when it's not covered, but I'm not sure if I should make that transition since she's sooo good in her crates now and I don't want to lose that.
I'd appreciate input and advice from other puppy parents 🙂
