Hi! So, me and my partner 5 days ago got ourselves a 5/6 months old pup from a shelter. She’s really sweet, we haven’t heard her bark once, she doesn’t growl, show teeth, not a single sign of “real” aggression.
The problem is she’s peeing all over the house, sometimes 5-10 mins apart. She was held in a crate at the shelter so we crate trained her in minutes, and she sleeps there with no problems (sometimes maybe whines a little when she’d like to play more), she never pees in the crate. Also she never pooped inside, she always whines at the door when she needs to poop.
We take her out for a walk 8-13 times a day, because we thought the problem is in not being potty trained, however I asked a specialist and she said that uncontrolled peeing is a sign of stress. Sometimes she would run and just squad mid run for peeing. Anytime we come back from a walk she’s so overhyped, she bites our hands and has zoomies, everytime, even after a long walk. We also go out at around 3 at night for a pee, because we don’t know if she will hold it. I don’t want to traumatize her, she’s so sweet when she’s calm but the constant peeing and having to keep an eye on her 24/7 is so so so exhausting, and we’re on the verge of losing our minds.
