As the title stated I need help keeping my dog cool. She's a German shepherd Siberian husky mix and I live in Alabama. So it gets hot here. To give some information I get her groomed with the Furminator at petsmart to help with the double coat. I also have a brush that I brush her out with as much as I can everyday. I've looked into cooling mats of all kinds, cooling blankets and recently discovered cooling collars. I had to cross off several from the list because they contained gel that didn't list ingredients or I saw reviews saying peoples dogs got very sick. And I'm poor. I do my absolute very best taking care of her and in doing so I couldn't get something knowing it could possibly make her sick and then die because I don't have the money to save her. Currently I'm looking at water activated mats but they were 120+ for her size since she's quite big. Obviously I'm aware having a big dog comes with problems like this. And I could eventually save the money and be able to get it before summer. But I just wanted to reach out and ask because there's plenty of people who know lots more than me and theres no shame in asking for help. For the in between of me getting the mat if that's what I choose I think I use frozen water bottles on her feet and stomach (obviously she can get up and move away if she doesn't like it) and maybe even this blue cloth in the freezer for keeping your neck warm (I'll have to look at the ingredients ofc). Anyways I would appreciate any and all help, links, and information you have to give.
P.S. She's like 60 lbs if that matters
P.P.S I'm aware I'm poor I don't need messages about possibility rehoming her. The house stays 72° but she and myself just seem to stay hot (she doesn't really pant often after getting fixed. I think her hormones made her run hotter.) If I ever couldn't afford her I would be the first on my hands and knees begging my vet to take her in.
P.P.P.S I do have some kind of flooring (I don't remember what it's called) that stays cool and she does like it when she gets too hot. So it's not like she's suffering with no where to go.
